Our History
Armament Technology Incorporated (ATI) provides professional grade optical weapon sighting systems and accessories for small arms. ATI was founded in 1988 in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and is wholly Canadian owned. Armament is also ISO certified and maintain controlled goods registration with the Canadian government. Currently ATI operates with 35 employees across the main office of Armament Technology and our divisions, Tangent Theta and Tenebraex.
In 2013 Tangent Theta Inc was established to build a series of riflescopes to meet the needs of professional marksmen. Tangent Theta became a division of Armament Technology Inc. in 2019. The Tangent Theta division of ATI is comprised of extremely experienced optical designers, mechanical designers, engineers with extensive background optical design for small arms. Also, in 2013 ATI acquired the assets of Tenebraex Corporation in Boston MA and moved corporate operations to Halifax NS. Since that time, we have grown the business to supply every major manufacture of Optics around the globe. We are specified in current US military acquisition for new optics to supply the accessories. (Flip Covers, Anti-Reflection devices).
ATI began buying C79 optical sights from ELCAN in 1994. Around that time ATI identified a tracking and 'zero' retention issue and implemented an improvement to the design to correct those issues. Over the Years ATI has maintained dozens of separate standing offer contracts with DND in support of supply and refurbishment of the C79’s and also C2A1 repair. ATI is the Master Distributor for ELCAN Raytheon and we support retail markets globally.
A new brand created by ATI releasing a series of Low Power Variable Optics (LPVO) to the sport shooting and hunting community. The first release of this product is the SAI™ 6 optic in Coyote brown, the first model is available in a 5.56 NATO BDC reticle, next up will be a 7.62 NATO BDC reticle with plans for more in the future. The SAI™ 6 series of optical sights provide a rugged and versatile solution for a variety of sighting requirements in variable magnification. With an LED-illuminated First Focal Plane reticle, ranging and ballistic hold-off is accurately achieved at any magnification. The scope features our proprietary Rapid Aiming reticle and superior field of view enhance close-quarter effectiveness. The ruggedized tubular design allows for a variety of modular mounting solutions. The SAI™ 6 series is designed to accommodate advanced optical sighting system enhancements such as flip covers, Anti-Reflection Devices, laser filters, and polarizers. SAI™ 6 series sights are designed for brilliant optical performance in rugged environments.
Tangent Theta series of Rifle Telescope have been designed for heavy field use, Tangent Theta’s industry-leading development team has used their extensive experience to optimize and refine it for unfailing ruggedness, mechanical precision and unsurpassed image quality. Elevation and windage mechanisms exhibit precise tactile response and feature a truly TOOL-LESS RE-ZERO® procedure. Tangent Theta rifle telescopes are built in Canada and are specifically designed and function-tested for long lifecycles in the harshest of environmental conditions.
Tenebraex® has supplied the United States Military hundreds of thousands flip covers and Anti Reflection devices over the past 20 years. Tenebraex remains the OEM manufacture of Tactical Tough Flip covers and killFLASH® Anti-Reflection Devises (ARD’s) to Military's throughout NATO. killFLASH® ARD’s use Tenebræx® proprietary XLUME® coating which helps prevent reflection of light from your scope.killFlash® anti-reflection devices offer "anti-glint" capability as well protection for the glass on your optic from sand, dirt and grime! Installed with flip covers you can extend the life of your optic. Protect your investment with Tenebræx® TT (Tactical Tough) ™ Flip Covers. Fully rotating and quick to open. These covers are designed to be used in the harshest environments.
Polarizing filters can be used to help reduce glare in the same way a pair of polarized sunglasses work but for your scope. Installed on the Ocular end of your optic it can help reduce glare on a sunny / snowy day, it can also allow you to see / shoot through glass surfaces. XOPTEK™ is now available with either a custom-designed mount fit to your ELCAN Specter product or with a Picatinny rail mount. Available in both 4MOA and 6MOA dot sizes. The XOPTEK™ Micro Reflex Sight is designed as a lightweight rapid aiming device for pistols and carbines and as an auxiliary sight for long-range magnified optical sights. In operation, the sight projects a brilliantly illuminated red dot into the user's field of view to act as a precise aiming point for close to mid-range targets. XOPTEK™ is a brand within the family of Armament Technology products.
